My motivation for teaching  ESOL stems from the  pride I have in my father, who, after the war settled in this country as a Polish immigrant.  He went on to develop near perfect English......with the exception of that pesky /th/ sound .....but I often thought how much easier it could have been if there  had been classes such as those at the Welcoming Association in Edinburgh (where I currently teach on a Monday afternoon).

So my joy in teaching English is in his memory and it gives me great pleasure to meet and work with so many fantastic people from all over the world.  

 

 English Lessons to children or adults in Edinburgh

 I am a qualified ESOL teacher with considerable relevant experience of teaching English to individuals, groups and whole classes. My previous profession as a speech and language therapist brings additional skills to my ESOL teaching.

Preparation and teaching is individualised. There is considerable emphasis on talking and listening, unless some other area is requested.
 I offer the following range of English learning opportunities, and for  students I  carry out a needs assessment for each student.  
 

Costs

• Individual  English language teaching for all levels . Location  agreed with individual students .  1:1 tuition  costs £20 for 1 hour,  £25  for 1.5. hours, and  £33 for two hours

• Lessons in pairs . If you have a friend or colleague at approximately the same  level of English you can attend together and  share the cost.
   

• Small group  and conversation classes . Times and locations according to demand . Daytime and evening groups  may be  available.  Each class of 1 hour costs £7 per person .(Minimum number of students 3, maximum 6)
